An Observer Corps is a structured way for individuals to exercise their right to know. Volunteer observers attend local government meetings to gather information about the issues being discussed as well as the process by which they are being discussed. The League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area is partnering with other local groups, including the Community Forum for Economic Development, to establish an Observer Corps in St. Joseph County. For more information about this developing project, attend the coalition’s next planning meeting scheduled for Thursday June 12, at 5:30 pm, in the Pokagon Room at the St. Joseph Public Library or email Lisa Plencner: lisa.plencner@comcast.net
