The opening speaker for this year's Forum will be Marty Wolfson,
an economist from the University of Notre Dame. His presentation will
address the issue of equity and economic policy, in particular how to
promote just outcomes in combatting the recession.
from the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, will describe
community incentives in Indy that sparked neighborhood revitalization.
Education Specialist for the South Bend Branch of the NAACP, will
address the critical role of public education in economic development.
will be a question and answer period following each morning event and
afternoon workshops will provide additional opportunities for you to
discuss and impact planning in four program areas: More Jobs, Improved
Neighborhoods, Health and Education, and Public Policy Initiatives.
The
event is being organized by the Community Forum for Economic
Development (CFED) and is being co-sponsored by a large number of
community organizations.
There is no registration fee but
advance registration is requested so that an adequate number of lunches
can be ordered. The cost of the lunch is $6 and can be paid on the day
