CITIZEN SCIENTISTS ARE NEEDED TO ASSIST THE SAFE AND HEALTHY HOUSING TEAM OF SUMMER RESEARCHERS WORKING WITH THE BOWMAN CREEK EDUCATIONAL ECOSYSTEM.
We are the Safe and Healthy Housing team based in Lang Lab, the Southeast Neighborhood Headquarters of BCe2. Our project centers around testing the effectiveness of various, inexpensive cleaning techniques people can implement into their cleaning routines. These techniques include dusting with specific cloths, vacuuming with a HEPA filter vs. a normal filter, mulching around the house, and wiping feet on doormats.
Our original plan was to test these techniques in 30-50 different houses but after reflection, we determined it was best to perform a majority of our experiment in a controlled lab setting for baseline data, then moving it out into the field to 5-10 houses and comparing the results. We are still looking for volunteers to allow us to perform our tests in their homes. The only requirements for a house are that it was built before 1978 and there are no children younger than 7 years old living in the house. Any suggestions or contact information would be greatly appreciated. Attached below is a link to a form to fill out for any volunteers, or just scan the QR code!
Thank you!
