HOW WILL WE REVIVE OUR WEST SIDE NEIGHBORHOODS?

At Monday’s meeting,

– A representative of the Community Forum’s Affordable Housing Committee will summarize and critique current housing assistance programs in the City of South Bend.
 
– ANNE MANNIX, President of Neighborhood Development Associates, will present “Five top ways we can improve access to affordable housing on the West Side.”  Neighborhood Development Associates is the leading developer for South Bend Mutual Homes, an affordable housing cooperative in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood.
 
– REGINA WILLIAMS PRESTON, Vice President of the Community Forum for Economic Justice, will introduce a proposal for a community-based Home Improvement Loan project that could help prevent new vacant and abandoned homes and strengthen communities through neighborhood cooperation and investment.
