Progressive economist and former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich and MoveOn.org Civic Action recently launched “The Big Picture: 10 Ideas to Save the Economy.” Ten videos, each less than 3 minutes in length are presented in Reich’s conversational and easy-to-understand style. Taken together, they constitute a bold vision for economic policy that goes far beyond conventional wisdom. They should prompt lively discussion and ideas for action.
At our June meeting, we will show these videos.
We will have discussion after each video and show as many as time permits.
The seven videos that have been produced so far focus on the following issues and proposals.
1) Fight for $15!
2) Help working families!
3) Expand Social Security!
4) Tame Wall Street!
5) Reinvent education!
6) End corporate welfare!
7) Strengthen unions!
The remaining three videos should be available by June 16.
