29th Annual Martin Luther King Community Service Breakfast & Day Celebration

The Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation of St. Joseph County and South Bend Heritage are excited to announce plans for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Recognition Breakfast and Day Celebration.

The 29th Annual Celebration will take place on Monday, January l9, 2015 and is coordinated by the MLK Foundation and SBH. Activities will be held throughout the day beginning with the Annual Community Service Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the South Bend Century Center. The celebration will continue with programs, workshops and seminars culminating with the special Celebration of Music and Praise at Indiana University South Bend organized by the South Bend Symphony & IU South Bend.

Each year the celebration brings thousands of participants to downtown South Bend to honor the legacy of Dr. King. The celebration is funded through charitable donations from businesses, organizations, and individuals who volunteer both their time and resources to support unity and solidarity among community leaders and residents. The 2015 Day of Service and Celebration theme is "Keep Sight of the Dream.” The annual Drum Major for Community Service awards will be presented by the City of South Bend and the City of Mishawaka at the Community Service Breakfast.
