On Monday, July 16,
at 7 PM, in the 4th floor chamber room at the County City Building, the
Common Council will continue to receive public testimony on the Eddy
Street Commons Project The City Clerk is gathering information on
possible conditions which will be considered by the Council as a
condition for their approval of the proposal. An example would be a
commitment, by the developer, to use energy-efficient building
standards as prescribed by the US Green Building Council’s current LEED
rating system, This is an issue that has been discussed at Community
Forum meetings and that is a suggested addition to the South Bend Tax
Abatement Ordinance revision. Your suggestions on the Eddy Street
Commons project should be emailed to mbwisnie@southbendin.gov and communicated to the City Council member from your district.
