1. Broadway Pizza Party: All the Pizza You Can Eat.  
Come and eat pizza and help us raise the funds to keep our meal ministry open.  We serve 600 meals a week to people who need it the most.
 Where:  Broadway Christian Parish, 1412 S. Carroll St., South Bend, IN 4613.
 When:  Saturday, October 30th, 2010, between 4 and 8 pm.
 Ticket:  $8.00 per adult.  $4.00 for kids 11 and under.

  • Kids in Halloween costumes eat free when accompanied by an adult.
  • Live music. 
  • Sponsored by The St. Joseph Valley Project to benefit Broadway Christian Parish UMC Hospitality Ministry.

2. Join the Near Northwest Neighborhood, Inc. (NNN) for the 8th annual Arts Café 
 Sunday, Nov. 7 from 10 AM to 5 PM.
This free walking tour will open five houses to the community, showcasing the distinctive character of area homes and providing a unique backdrop for local artists, musicians, and culinary specialists to share their diverse talents. Guests will begin their tour at the corner of Lindsey St. and Cushing St.; just follow the signs from the South Bend Civic Theatre (at the corner of Portage Ave. & Lindsey St.). The Near Northwest Neighborhood, Inc. is an organization of citizens dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of the neighborhood through providing affordable housing to low-moderate income households, organizing and empowering community residents and promoting the neighborhood's interest within the neighborhood and the entire community.

3. "RACE: Are We So Different?"
is an interactive and engaging exhibit that helps visitors understand what race is and what it is not.
On Saturday, November 13, a bus will travel from South Bend to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum.  
The bus will leave the IUSB SAC Parking Lot at 8 AM (Return time 4:15 AM) and the Ivy Tech Fellows Street Parking Lot at 8:30 AM (Return time: 4 PM).
Sponsored by the IU South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center and the Ivy Tech Office of Diversity.
Cost: $5 (travel and snack provided)
