Upcoming Event Oct 11: Summit on Climate Change

On Saturday, October 11, the Indiana Sierra Club,
Hoosier Environmental Council, Citizen’s Action Coalition, Earth
Charter, and the Center for a Sustainable Future (IU South Bend) will
sponsor a Community Summit on Climate Change. The event
will be held from 9:30-3:00 pm at IU South Bend – Wiekamp Hall 1001,
off Mishawaka Avenue.  The event is free (lunch is provided for $5.
The first 30 registrants before Oct. 3 will receive a free lunch. 

Please plan to attend a very exciting Community Summit on Climate
Change and join with others to explore how each of us can help reverse
global warming. This event is happening all over the world, and will
be an opportunity to learn, discuss and network with others. It will
include expert keynotes about the impact of climate change in Indiana,
workshops on topics related to being a positive advocate in your
community and a webcast to the world from IUSB!

The day will feature keynote addresses from experts on the impact of
climate change on Indiana. In addition, training workshops will
prepare participants to be come advocates for positive change. 

Workshop topics include

– Cool Cities/Counties: local action to reduce global warming

– Indiana Public Policy: statemwide action to create a green Indiana

– Electricity with Renewable energy: a Transition Plan for America.
